Digital OPG / Panoramic X-Ray
An OPG (orthopantomogram) is a single panoramic X-ray that captures the entire jaw, all teeth, the sinuses and the TMJ in one image — the standard first-line scan for routine screening, orthodontic assessment and extraction planning, with a radiologist-read report delivered the same day.

What an OPG shows
An OPG gives a broad, single-image view of both jaws — useful for spotting cavities, bone loss, impacted teeth, cysts and abnormalities before deciding whether a more detailed 3D CBCT scan is needed.
Common uses: routine dental check-ups, orthodontic treatment planning, wisdom tooth screening, and a baseline scan before more detailed implant or surgical imaging.
Is an OPG right for your patient?
Routine check-ups
A broad screening image for new patients or annual reviews, catching issues a clinical exam alone may miss.
Orthodontic assessment
Shows tooth position, root angulation and jaw relationship needed for braces or aligner planning.
Extraction & wisdom teeth
A first look at impacted or unerupted teeth before deciding on extraction or referral for a CBCT.
Scan time
About 10-20 seconds of active exposure — the full scan takes around 1 minute from positioning to completion.
Radiation dose
One of the lowest-dose dental imaging options available, well within ALARA guidelines.
Report delivery
A radiologist-read report is delivered to the referring dentist the same day the scan is taken.
Preparation
No special preparation needed. Remove earrings, glasses and any removable metal appliances beforehand.
